I am a big fan of longform ambient soundscapes … I am also a big fan of Kevin Lyons’ music, so you can imagine my delight when he submitted a longform piece for my consideration.

You’d think I would be sick of them after 28 dronescapes but nothing could be further from the truth … I love them! and I love the fact that Lyons was inspired by our favourite cousin to give longform a try. This creative cross-pollination makes me very happy indeed.

Clocking in at just under 70 minutes, “Noises from the edge of the universe” is everything I love about ambient music: imaginative, engaging, immersive, and ultimately satisfying. It is a piece that envelopes you and lets you forget yourself. God only knows how much I have needed this.

Well done Kev!
