The story goes back to 2012: I had created the track which serves here as basetrack from an improvised session with friends. In another session we played along to the basetrack in a rather free-jazzy ambient freestyle manner. Then I lost most of my music in a computer crash. At the end of the last year I found an untitled CDr and luckily it contained the base- track and also the track from the session.

I uploaded the basetrack to Soundcloud and since it rattles on and on for 8:30 minutes without anything much happening offered it as an open-collab track for others to finish it.

I am completely overwhelmed by the resonance it found. Musicians from all over the world contributed to this project, and I am wholeheartedly thankful for their efforts.

Each track reveals unique and awesome creative powers, and the genres range from noise to ambient, jazz to rock, experimental to classic – you name it.

When Wilfried Hanrath first pitched the idea of a remix album and named some of the contributors, folks I was very familiar with such as Cousin Silas, Glove of Bones, and Thomas Park; I was intrigued. My curiosity hasn't diminished as I have watched the size of the project grow from one album with 19 tracks to a five-album series with 85 tracks.

There is something here for everyone, of that I am sure, and it would be wrong for me to single out key tracks because I will have missed a gem ... what I will say is that this endeavour will introduce you to new creatives and will hopefully encourage you to check out their music.

Happy exploring ... I hope you find something that makes your heart sing.
